Our Story

Stuck in the Sand Trap was founded in 2025 by me, Andy.

A couple of years earlier, life felt heavy. I’d just lost my mum, I was becoming a dad to two young girls, and I was navigating the pressures and anxiety of a demanding career. On paper everything looked fine - but inside I felt overwhelmed, stretched thin, and honestly a bit stuck.

So I did what I’ve always done when life gets noisy: I went to the golf course.

And that’s where something clicked.

I realised that golf had quietly become far more than just a hobby. It was my outlet. My space to breathe. My chance to switch off from emails, responsibilities and expectations for a few hours and simply be myself.

Out there I could walk, talk, laugh, think clearly, meet friends, make new ones - and reconnect with the version of me that often gets lost in day-to-day life.

No matter how badly I played, I never once left the course regretting it.

That’s when the idea for Stuck in the Sand Trap was born - to create a community where other men could experience the same sense of release, connection and perspective that golf gives me.

Our Mission

Stuck in the Sand Trap exists to help men feel better - using golf as the way in.

We believe golf is more than a sport. It’s time outdoors, time to think, time to talk, and time away from the pressures we all carry. It’s one of the few places where men naturally slow down, open up and reconnect with themselves and with others.

Our purpose is simple: to create welcoming, pressure-free spaces where men can switch off, connect, and look after their mental wellbeing through the game of golf.

This isn’t about perfect swings or low scores. It’s about fresh air, good company, honest conversations and leaving the course feeling lighter than when you arrived.
